The Ministry was established in 2001 after it was excised by the defunct Ministry of Information, Social Development, Youth, Sports, and Culture. However, the Ministry was renamed in 2003 as the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Mobilization, until 2017 when it was again renamed Ministry of Youth and Special Duties. It was established with a vision to empower, inspire, and transform, the Edo State Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs is at the forefront of youth development and humanitarian efforts in our region. Our multifaceted approach integrates innovative solutions with grassroots engagement, ensuring that our programs are inclusive, sustainable, and impactful.
As mandated by the Government of Edo State, our ministry is entrusted with the responsibility of formulating and implementing policies, programs, and initiatives that promote the socio-economic empowerment and political participation of youth, while also coordinating humanitarian activities aimed at alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations and providing relief in times of crisis.
