The Ministry was established in 2001, after it was excised from the defunct Ministry of information, social Development, Youth, Sports and Culture.

Welcome to the Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs

Development in the State. This is actualized through policy formulation and implementation of Youth programs and activities. The main Objective of the department is to prepare the youth adequately for self-fulfillment

The Ministry was established in 2001, after it was excised from the defunct Ministry of information, social Development, Youth, Sports and Culture. However, the Ministry was renamed in 2003 as Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Mobilization, until 2017 when it was again renamed Ministry of Youth and Special Duties.

“To position Edo as a leader in the provision and implementation of Youth development programmes, empowerment opportunities & humanitarian interventions to promote sustainable livelihood amongst its youths and vulnerable population.”

Mission

“To act as a facilitator and catalytic agent in youth development and humanitarian actions through leadership, policy development, strategic initiatives & regulations that promote the socio-economic & long-term development of the State”

Mandate

Develop & adopt comprehensive youth development & humanitarian policies, provide effective engagement and coordination of Edo Youths and humanitarian interventions and harmonize the efforts of relevant stakeholders in the socio-economic development of Edo State
Ensure that the priorities, needs & rights of Edo indigenes/residents affected by humanitarian issues are identified and addressed
